"Stupid bloody fool" - it's the incorrigible Ibrahim Ali again

Jul 28: The incorrigible chief of Perkasa, Ibrahim Ali (pic), never fails to spawn a host of laughter every once in a while, offering friends and foes a moment of comic relief in what is otherwise a tensed political scene.

This time around, the staunchly pro-UMNO member of parliament defended an award named after him to be conferred to anyone fulfilling his definition of an excellent student.

The announcement of the 'Ibrahim Ali Award' was followed by an explosion of sarcasm among Netizens using online social media, prompting the UMNO-controlled administration of Universiti Institut Teknology Mara (UiTM) to state that the decision was not final.

The man himself finally broke his silence today, lashing out at those who criticised the award as "jealous".

“What the hell are these people talking about? The award is from me. I donate my own money just to give to any student who is credible, so what?

“If they are not happy, they create their own award lah. Because this is all jealousy. You see, all these came from PAS and opposition and (they are) shameful, have no class,” news portal Malaysiakini quoted him as saying.

"Basket!"

And in an almost deliberate attempt to provoke him further, a reporter then remarked that MCA was among those who opposed the RM5,000 award.

“So what? I don't care. Who cares? Where is the so-called human rights? Where is the democracy they are talking about? Democracy only for them? Human rights only for them?

"Basket!” retorted the short-tempered former cabinet member, and told the press not to censor the swear word.

“Put it on air, I don't care, I don't even lose one sen,” he said, and went on calling MCA "stupid and bloody fool", but not before justifying it with his trademark race-inspired tirade by saying that MCA had relied on Malay votes.

Ibrahim, who never hides his staunch support for UMNO despite contesting on a PAS ticket in 2008 - a 'strategic' move which PAS leaders had openly regretted ever since - said his popularity had made him a victim of jealousy.

“When I was in UMNO, when I cooperated with PAS, anywhere I go, not only those from opposition parties, even UMNO friends are also jealous of me," Malaysiakini quoted Ibrahim, who for weeks had threatened to disrupt the recently held Bersih rally on July 9 with his own counter-rally, only to disappear from the public for several days.
