Police ask the public delivery of BERSIH video

Cooperation is necessary to enable the police to get a true picture of events that occurred, said Deputy Inspector General of Police.






GENTING HIGHLANDS: The public is asked to cooperate with the police to hand over the video-related illegal assembly last July 9 to be made whether there is evidence police claim to act violently when the assembly dispersed.
Deputy Inspector General of Police Datuk Khalid Abu Bakar said the collaborationnecessary to enable the police to get a true picture of events that occurred after manyof the alleged rudeness of the police in addressing the gathering.


"We will investigate in a transparent, detailed, and the police would not hide any facts,"he told reporters after attending a workshop Against Theft of vehicles in Malaysia here today.

Khalid said police should be prepared to show video of the actual incident that occurred at the rally.


"If necessary we will post the video after the committee set up completed the report onthe rally," he said.


Commenting on the arrests made ​​during the march, Khalid said the arrests carried outaccording to law, if those arrested are not satisfied with the job of the police, the matter may be brought to court.


"The arrests were made ​​mostly because of dress BERSIH (Coalition for Clean and Fair Elections) ... most of the arrests were released unconditionally, and partly because we invite people gathered to investigate.


Meanwhile, Khalid also urged anyone with evidence of the death of taxi driver claims Baharuddin Ahmad, 59, as a result of tear gas when the assembly is to submit evidence to the police.


"If there is evidence show ... do not spread the allegation without any legitimacy," he said.


Earlier, police confirmed the death Baharudin participating in an illegal assembly in the KLCC area on July 9 is the result of complications of heart failure and not due to tear gas as claimed by certain quarters.
