Besut July 17 - Members of People's Volunteer Corps (RELA) will no longer perform OpsTegas to withstand or apprehending illegal immigrants on its own without the participation of the relevant authorities.
RELA Director-General Datuk Mustafa Ibrahim said, RELA Operations, which was heldover the years had to be stopped because it caused much controversy and negative charges of the various parties that could tarnish the image of RELA.
"Therefore, I ask each member of the RELA cancel operations and detain immigrants used immediately return the equipment such as handcuffs to the office immediately,"he said at the meeting with RELA members at Besut and district of Pasir Putih,Kampung Baharu today .
From now on, each member of the RELA is only allowed to provide information if there are illegal activities in their place to the authorities. - Bernama
